“Sally, dinner was amazing,” Stealth praised as they all walked down the hall.

“I still don’t get it,” Mach shrugged. “Is it a birthday celebration or a religious thing?”

“Yeah,” Turbo inserted. “What is Christmas?”

Looking over the Clan Lords she smiled. They’d all dressed up in their best black and red outfits for the night. Christmas eve was coming together beautifully, which was good, considering how much she had to do without the other Lords being aware of her activities. The elementals had loved the idea of putting on a celebration; apparently they’d been doing their own version of a winter solstice feast for hundreds of years and keeping it from the other Omega.

“But why did we have to cook?”

Sally shook her head at Blade’s continued complaints. She’d certainly heard it enough from him. He was the one with the best knife skills so he ended up getting locked with her in the kitchen for most of the day. “I told you, the elementals were finishing something up for me and had planned their own holiday. We couldn’t expect them to cook for us as well, and spending time together in the kitchen at Christmas is a great bonding experience.”

Drake put his arm around her and tucked her close to his body. “Last thing I need is for you to have more bonding with them.”

“Hey,” Mach drawled, “she likes us.”

“Believe me, I know.”

“You still have to explain it to us,” Turbo scowled. “What is Christmas?”

“Religious holiday? Family tradition? Or centuries old birthday party?”

She laughed at Luke, who had joined forces with the speed boys. “It’s all of them. It depends on who you are and what you cherish. Christmas is just … Christmas. Maybe you can’t explain it; you just have to feel it.”

Drake held up his hands to stop Luke, Mach, Turbo and Aquos from all talking at once. “Enough. Stop pestering my wife and allow her to share what it is that’s taken her from our bed so often over the last few days.”

They instantly obeyed, which made her shake her head. “I should have asked you to give me that power for Christmas,” she shared with her husband.

“I think, as your mate, that is one ability I shall keep to myself.”

“Probably best.”

All the men laughed when he jerked her into his arms and gave her one of his special knee-melting kisses. When he put her back into her original location next to the doors to the living room, it took her a few minutes for her brain to start working again. “I was showing you the surprise,” she blurted out.

“Is she reminding herself or us?”

“Hush, you,” she commanded Aquos.

“This is my Christmas surprise for you.” She opened the door, and smiled when she saw their jaws drop open at the sight. The elementals had transformed the living room into a holiday wonderland. Tiny twinkling lights were hung around the crown molding, great boughs of evergreen and holly had been strewn over the mantle and the bookshelves. Candles in red and gold dotted the greenery and tables around the room.
